About Me

Hi, I am Karalynn. I have been married to my best friend, Shane, for seven years. We have four children, Bentley (6), Lorelai (3), Harper Ashley (2), McKinley (Baby). We have both been raised in the Pacific Northwest for most of our lives. We are currently residing in Kitsap County.

I entered birth work after a traumatic birth with my middle child. I birthed feeling alone, scared, abused and ignored. Those feelings launched me into action to help others not feel this as well. Birth is one of the most important days of persons life and it should be nothing but an empowering, joyful day. I began working as a doula for about 2 years. During this time I knew that my end goal was to pursue midwifery. After an empowering and healing home birth with my third child, I applied to Midwives College of Utah where I began my bachelors of science May 2023. In the mean time, I am continuing my work with placenta encapsulation.

I took my training for placenta encapsulation in August 2021 to explore the “side job”. It quickly turned into my passion and has since become my focal point for my entire life. I have been actively pursuing to further my education in the art of placental services as well as entertaining the idea of adding trainings for other birth workers. My goal is to incorporate both safety for all parties while still honoring the sacred traditions with placenta encapsulation. My experience extends beyond a placenta encapsulation training. I began my working career at Papa murphy’s where I worked for 7 years as a assistant manager/store manager. Here I learned food safety, running a business and customer service. In that seven years, I took a break to work at a vitamin and supplement factory. I learned the bulk of my skill of encapsulation as well as effectively cleaning equipment to avoid any forms of cross contaminations. Between both of these, I added a course taught by a midwife about the specifics to encapsulation and combined the three to create what is now Murmuring Rock Placenta Encapsulation.
